Antique Box in Kingwood with Brass Edging

Ref DL015
SOLD
This early Victorian antique box is veneered and cross-banded in vibrant Kingwood. It is further enhanced by its right-angle brass edging, brass recessed side handles, and Bramah lock. The original owner's initials of 'M.A.C' are inlaid into the top of the lid.

The interior is lined and ruched with rich dark brown velvet, and partitioned into six cushioned sections. The front four sections have secret floors that lift up to reveal further velvet-lined compartments underneath.

With its robust construction and substantial weight, this box features 'E. Wells & Co' patent reinforced concealed hinges.

The Bramah lock is fully working and comes with its original Bramah key.
