Ref DL050
SOLD
This impressive antique jewellery box, dating from around 1850, is veneered in figured Walnut, and edged in brass with brass strung inlay.

The box has been fitted with beautifully engraved side handles and a decorative engraved brass inlaid monogram on the lid.

The interior of the box is lined and ruched with burgundy velvet. The main area is partitioned into seven compartments along with a central ring/ cuff-link channel. The deep rear compartment is perfect for storing larger valuables.

The front flap of the box, with its gilded and engraved Bramah lock plate, drops forward to reveal two lower drawers. The top shallow drawer is partitioned into three velvet-lined compartments, and the lower deeper drawer has an open velvet-lined compartment.

Removing the lower drawer allows the whole Mahogany floor panel below to slide out, uncovering a concealed removable jewellery tray beneath it.

The Bramah lock is fully working and comes with its original Bramah key.
