Antique Jewellery Cabinet in Rosewood with Foliate Brass Inlay and Ten Drawers

This Regency Rosewood jewellery cabinet dates from around 1820. Every side of the cabinet has been delicately inlaid with foliate brass and finished with brass edging and large brass recessed side handles.
The drop-front panel opens to reveal ten Rosewood fronted drawers with burgundy velvet lining. Eight of the drawers have an interior height of 0.8cm, one drawer has an interior height of 1.8cm, and the bottom drawer, partitioned into twenty compartments, has an interior height of 2.1cm.
The lock plate is engraved with 'Barrons' and 'Patent', relating to the lock maker, Robert Barron who, in 1778, was credited with considerably advancing the technology of lock security.
