SOLD
Dating from 1860, this large antique jewellery box in Calamander and Coromandel is edged in brass, with ornate recessed side handles and two Bramah locks.

The interior of the box is lined and ruched with purple velvet. There is a removable leather-bound tray with a velvet-lined area beneath, as well as a compartmented rear section. The lid of the box holds a Coromandel framed mirror which springs forward, with the push of a concealed button, to reveal a ruched velvet panel on the reverse.

The lower drawer is fitted with two full-width compartments and a central ring/ cuff link channel. The Bramah lock belonging to the drawer is stamped with 'Lockwood' and 'Bond Street', denoting William David Lockwood, a retailer based at 75 Bond Street, London.

Both Bramah locks are fully working and come with their original Bramah key.
