Antique Jewellery Box in Calamander, Retailed by Lambert & Co.

Dating from 1865, this antique jewellery box in Calamander is edged in brass, with ornate recessed side handles and two Bramah locks.
The interior of the box is lined in black velvet and moiré silk, with the interior brass work bearing decorative ‘bright-cut’ engraving. There is a removable leather-bound tray with a velvet-lined area beneath, as well as a full-width rear section.
An inlaid retailer’s plate to the rear of the box is engraved with, ‘Lambert - Coventry Street, Piccadilly’; this refers to Lambert & Co, a highly respected goldsmiths, silversmiths and jewellers based at 10, 11 & 12 Coventry Street, London.
The independently lockable lower drawer is compartmented into three sections accompanying a full-width ring/ cuff link channel.
