Large Antique Jewellery Case in Coromandel with Silver Mounted Monograms, by William Leuchars

Dating from the early 1870’s, this large antique jewellery case in coromandel was manufactured and retailed by William Leuchars. Bound with ebony edging, the box is finished with engraved solid silver monograms mounted to the corners of the lid.
The partitioned interior is lined with purple moiré silk and matching velvet.
A brass plate to the rear rim of the box is engraved with ‘Leuchars & Son. 38 & 39 Piccadilly London'.
The Bramah patent lock is fully working and comes with its original key.
