This French Flame mahogany, brass inlaid antique jewellery box was manufactured in the early 1820s. It has been decorated with ornate inlaid brass flourishes, escutcheons, corner mounts, recessed side handles and then finished with brass edging.

The interior of the box is lined and ruched with burgundy velvet and divided into six large compartments.

There is a full-width lock with a secure double-action locking mechanism.

The lock is fully working and comes with its original key.
