Antique Jewellery Box in Rosewood with Foliate Brass Inlay

This antique Rosewood jewellery box, dating from the 1830's, has been delicately inlaid with foliate brass leaf designs to the front and top, edged in radial brass and finished with recessed side handles.

The interior has been lined and ruched with burgundy velvet and comprises a large front compartment with three smaller separated rear compartments. The inner rims of the box are inlaid with fine brass stringing.

The Bramah lock is fully working and comes with an original Bramah key.
