Antique Jewellery Box in Coromandel

This antique jewellery box, dating from the mid-1860s, is veneered in coromandel and fitted with brass recessed side handles and two Bramah locks.

The interior of the box is lined and ruched in purple velvet. There is a removable leather-bound tray with a velvet-lined area beneath, as well as a full-width rear compartment.

The lower drawer, with its own independently locking Bramah lock, has a leather-bound lidded surface with a velvet-lined jewellery area and a full-width ring/cufflink channel underneath.

Both Bramah locks are fully working and come with their original Bramah key.
