Antique Jewellery Box in Enhanced Burr Walnut

This antique jewellery box, dating from the 1870s, is veneered in burr walnut with Indian ink accentuation; this was an artistic technique applied to some walnut pieces during the 1870s and 1880s. The box is finished with brass edging, recessed brass side handles, and a Bramah lock.

The cushioned interior is lined with petrol blue velvet and edged with matching silk.

The Bramah lock is fully working and comes with its original Bramah key.
