Antique Jewellery Box in Coromandel, by Pittway Brothers

This large antique jewellery box, dating from the late 1860's, is veneered in Coromandel, with brass edging, inlaid brass monogram, recessed side handles and two Bramah locks.
The interior of the box is lined and ruched in red/ burgundy velvet. There is a removable leather-bound jewellery tray with a velvet-lined area beneath, as well as a full width rear compartment.
The brass maker's plate at the rear of the box, engraved with 'Pittway Bros - London', pushes down to release an independently lockable, spring-loaded front drawer. This drawer has a removable leather-bound lidded surface with a velvet-lined jewellery area and a full width ring/ cuff link channel underneath.
Both Bramah locks are fully working and come with their original Bramah key. ... Read More
