This antique jewellery box, dating from around 1850, is veneered in Burr Walnut and edged with brass.
The partitioned interior, lined and ruched with dark purple velvet, houses a small leather-bound tray and two miniature removable leather-bound boxes. An embossed leather panel on the inside of the lid displays the gold tooled maker's mark of 'Edwards, Manufacturer to Her Majesty. 21 King St Bloomsbury, London'.
