Antique Jewellery Box in Burr Walnut

Ref DL125
SOLD
This antique jewellery box, dating from the 1880's, is veneered in Burr Walnut, and finished with brass edging, ornate recessed brass side handles, and a self-locking Bramah lock.

The interior, lined and ruched with purple velvet, contains two removable velvet-lined jewellery trays, and a deep velvet-lined area beneath.

The front aperture of the Bramah lock can be twisted clockwise using the key (or even one's fingers), thus disengaging the locking mechanism and allowing the box to be opened; by simply closing the box, the locking mechanism will automatically re-engage. The Bramah key locks this twist mechanism, rendering the lock un-openable without its key.  ... Read More
