Antique Decanter Box in Coromandel, by Walter Thornhill & Co

This antique decanter box in coromandel was manufactured in the late 1870's by the highly respected English firm of Walter Thornhill & Co. The casing is finished with brass edging, decorative brass strung inlay, and a Bramah patent lock.
The interior, lined with blue morocco leather, moiré silk and velvet, houses two extra large ‘hobnail’ cut glass decanters.
A brass plate to the rear rim of the box is engraved with, ‘Thornhill & Co - 144 New Bond St London’.
