SOLD
Manufactured and retailed by Fitzmaurice West, this antique dressing case is veneered in coromandel with brass edging, inlay, and large recessed side handles. Centrally inset to the lid are a Baroness's coronet above a monogram bearing the initials 'A.E.N'.

The interior, lined in a combination of blue velvet, moire silk and Morocco leather, contains eleven cut glass vanity bottles and jars with decoratively engraved and engine-turned silver lids. Silver discs inset onto the lids are engraved with the matching coronet and initialed monogram. Each of the silver fittings bear the maker's mark of John Ivings, and are hallmarked for London 1851.

The ruched velvet panel in the lid drops forward to reveal a concealed leather-bound letter wallet and a removable free-standing leather-bound mirror.

An engraved brass plate beneath the ruched velvet panel displays the maker's mark of, 'F. West. Manufacturer to Prince Albert & The Royal Family - No.1 St James's St'.

The independently lockable lower drawer has a velvet-lined interior with two fitted, but removable, leather-bound ring/ cufflink boxes.

The box retains its original outer leather travelling case that also bears the matching coronet and 'A.E.N' initials.

Both locks come with their original Bramah key.
