Dating from the mid-1840's, this antique jewellery box is veneered in Amboyna with brass edging and brass recessed side handles.
The interior of the box, lined with green morroco leather, velvet and moiré silk, is fitted with two removable leather-bound jewellery trays. Beneath these trays is a large compartment lined with moiré silk and velvet, accompanied by a further five smaller compartments to the rear of the box.
