Antique Jewellery Box in Coromandel, by Ollivant & Botsford

This antique jewellery box was retailed by Ollivant & Botsford during the mid-1860's. It is veneered in coromandel with brass edging, and a Bramah lock.
The partitioned interior is lined with green velvet and edged with green moiré silk. A brass plate to the rear rim of the box is engraved with, 'Ollivant & Botsford, 2 Exchange St, Manchester'; pressing this plate releases the spring-loaded lower drawer containing a large velvet-lined section and full width ring/ cufflink channel.
