Dating from the early 1830's, this large antique jewellery box in Rosewood is inlaid with a delicate scrollwork brass design, accompanying right-angle brass edging, ornate recessed brass side handles and a Bramah lock. The initials ‘M.E.T’ beneath a Baron’s coronet are centrally inlaid into the lid.
The interior is lined with cushioned green velvet and matching moiré silk. A gold-tooled maker's mark to the interior of the lid reads, 'Edwards, Manufacturer to His Majesty. 21 King St Bloomsbury, London'.
