This large antique jewellery box is veneered in Calamander wood, and fitted with two ornately engraved recessed brass side handles. The box was manufactured for Clementina Drummond-Willoughby, 24th Baroness Willoughby de Eresby in the early 1870's by Asprey of Bond Street. Her monogram and coronet are inlaid into the lid. This box has spent most of its life at Grimsthorpe Castle in Lincolnshire - home to the Willoughby de Eresby family since 1516.

The interior, lined with purple velvet and matching moiré silk, is fitted with two small removable trays. The extra deep lower drawer is lined with matching velvet and silk, and is independently lockable.

Both Bramah locks work off the same original gold plated key.
