Dating from the mid-1850's, this magnificent, extra-large French antique jewellery box is veneered in rosewood and inlaid with a decorative bi-colour brass design. The box is finished with recessed brass side handles, and a large centrally mounted French heraldic family crest.
The interior is lined with dark green and peridot green velvet with a matching moiré silk.
The partitioned interior houses a removable octagonal rosewood tray.
An engine-turned, hallmarked silver framed freestanding easel mirror is stowed to the underside of the lid.
