Antique Jewellery Box in Burr Walnut

This antique jewellery box, veneered in Burr Walnut with brass edging and an engraved central brass monogram, was manufactured in the early 1870's.

The interior of the box is lined and ruched with dark purple velvet and contains a removable leather-bound and velvet-lined jewellery tray.

A push button set into the rear rim of the box releases a spring-loaded lower drawer that can be independently locked. This drawer is fitted with further velvet-lined compartments, along with a ring/ cuff-link channel.

Both Bramah Patent locks are stamped 'S. Mordan & Co', and come with their Bramah keys.
