Antique Jewellery Box in Burr Walnut, by Edwards

This antique jewellery box, dating from around 1850, is veneered in Burr Walnut and edged with brass.

The partitioned interior, lined and ruched with dark purple velvet, houses a small leather-bound tray and two miniature removable leather-bound boxes. An embossed leather panel on the inside of the lid displays the gold tooled maker's mark of 'Edwards, Manufacturer to Her Majesty. 21 King St Bloomsbury, London'.

The Bramah lock, signed ‘J. Bramah, 124 Piccadilly’, is fully working and comes with its original Bramah key.
