Dating from the 1870s, this large antique jewellery box is veneered in coromandel, with brass edging and recessed brass side handles.

The cushioned single-compartment interior is lined and ruched with ruby red velvet.

An engraved brass plate to the inside of the lid reads, ‘Mappin & Webb - Sheffield - 158 to 162 Oxford St & Mansion House Buildgs - London’.

The Bramah lock comes with its original key.
