Antique Jewellery Box in Coromandel, by Leuchars

This antique jewellery box, veneered in Coromandel with brass edging and recessed brass handles, was manufactured and retailed by William Leuchars during the mid 1860’s.

The interior of the box is fitted with a removable leather-bound jewellery tray, and is lined with purple velvet and grosgrain silk. A small brass plate to the rear rim of the box is engraved with, ‘W. Leuchars. 38 Piccadilly, London’.

The independently lockable lower drawer is partitioned and fitted with a full width ring/ cuff link channel.

Both locks are fully working and come with their original key.
