Antique Jewellery Box in Cuban Mahogany, by Edwards

Dating from the mid-1830’s, this antique jewellery box was manufactured and retailed by one of the finest English cabinet makers, Edwards. Made from solid Cuban Mahogany, the box has been finished with brass edging, recessed brass side handles and a Bramah lock.

The interior of the box is lined with green velvet and matching Morocco leather. The main leather-bound jewellery tray lifts out to reveal an open lined area beneath. There is also a further small removable tray to the rear of the box.

A gold-tooled maker's mark to the interior of the lid reads, 'Edwards, Manufacturer to His Majesty. 21 King St Bloomsbury, London'.

The Bramah lock is fully working and comes with its original key.
