Brass Corner Mounts

Brass corner mounts were shaped to fit into the right-angled corners of a box’s interior rim. Originally intended to strengthen and protect the corner joints, they also became an important decorative feature.

As box construction became more refined, these mounts were often shaped, engraved or otherwise embellished, allowing a practical fitting to contribute to the overall design of the interior.
